Hi All,
Just wanted a clarification regarding the Change and Transport system.
1. Is this feature New is MDM 7.1? or is it an enhancement from the MDM 5.5 version?
2. Do we need any specific configuration to use this? or is it an Inbuilt feature which can be used directly in 7.1?
i.e can we follow the below steps to achieve the results without any configurations?
1. we can create a reference
2. Add fields or tables (Carry data modelling)
3. Export change file
4. Import change file in new repository.
Regards,
Sharma.
Hello,
The CTS+ is supported for Non ABAP objects and is available from 7.1
It is not a built in functionality, you need to configure the system for the same.
for details refer the [Document|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d0dd1ae0-36e5-2b10-f8b4-e6365e643c0b].
And CTS only works for changes made in the repository, for initial transport have to be done manually, you create an archive, and you transport the archive to quality and then to production.
This initial manual transport is one time activity, after this any changes will flow through CTS
As said, we always have the option to transport manually.
Hope this clears your doubt

Abhishek

Hello,
The basic requirement for CTS is to transfer Non-ABAP Objects, so MDM, PI which are non ABAP, also
to have a monitoring in place rather than manual transfer, we have CTS configured in our environment.
In CTS we can have auto as well as manual transport, this is done based on your requirement.

Abhishek
