Compressing cube which contains data without setting constant for 0FISCVARN

Hi,

We have an Infocube 0figl_c10 which is not compressed, not partitioned and no aggregates are built.

It contains 60 million data records starting from 2008 .

We are thinking of either comression AND physical partitioning the cube on 0fiscper OR just compression for now.

I know the procedure to partition empty cube.

I have gone through various forums and only thing i got to know is that we can partiton a cube which contains data in BI 7.0.

Problem is, 0FISCVARNT is not set to constant in the infocube. To set this to constant we will have to delete entire data from the cube anyways.

Is there any workaround provided in 7.0 which will allow us to partition this cube without deleting data?

Also, if we decide to go just for compression for now, would we be able to perform physical partitioning laterwords?(considering the fact that we will anyways have to empty the compressed cube)
