Sampling in Inspection lot

Hi All,

I am facing an issue regarding sample size and no of inspect in inspection lot result recording screen.

I am not using any sampling procedure for MICs in inspection plan and MICs are set for single result in control indicator.

Now lets say my inspection lot (01) is of quantity 100 hence my sample size in QA02 is coming as 100 now for some materials in the result recording screen "no of inspect" is coming as 1 in all MICs and sometimes it comes equal to lot quantity i.e 100. this seems very weird behavior to me, i want no of inspect to be 1 if no sampling procedure is assigned.

Can you please help me here!

It can depend on your material master setup and your configuration settings. Calculation of sample size can be influenced by several layers of functionality.

Inspection Plans are the lowest level, i.e MIC's with sampling procedures defined.

The material master can also contain data at the inspection type set ups. A sampling procedure can be defined in here, or you can specify percentage or indicate 100% inspection, or manual sample entry.

These would be areas I would check for differences.

Thanks for the reply!

I had already checked but for Material master setup but both sampling procedure and 100% inspection is not activated in inspection setup. This is reason i am wondering if no sampling related data is maintained then how system is proposing order quantity in "no of inspect" in result recording.

Are you'r mics all quants? All Quals? Any inspection points? You are doing all manual valuation then right?

Hi,

We are using both quants and quals characteristics bit mostly i see issue with qualitative chars where no to be inspected are coming as lot quantity, and no we are not using any inspection point also yes we are doing manual valuation.

This is seems very strange that for lots its fine i.e. no to inspected are coming as 1 for some it is equal to lot qty even though every settings are same.

I would probably look directly at the entires for an inspection lot with this issue in table QAMV and see if you can see any differences. Check on field by field basis for differences and make sure you understand each difference.

That might give you a clue as to the issue.

One more thing to check might be if the reception of goods is done in different units (e.g. pieces, kg,...). This might also create the described behavior.
