IDOC format and examples

Dear Experts,

I am faced with following problem: We would like to import dailly FX rates from a non SAP system to a SAP system.

Basically customer sends us FX rates dailly we will convert them to "right" format and then via IDOC upload them.

We use herefor the standard IDOC EXCHANGE_RATE.

My question is now: How does this format needs to look like?

What parameters should we enter in the file so that SAP knows it needs to process it with EXCHANGE_RATE.

I have no idea, Can somebody give me an example file or a link to an example file?

br,

Stef

Hi Stef,

first you would need a succesful IDoc (transaction WE02). You can create it manually in WE19 and process it there (a kind of a simulation). You have to test (or to ask other experts) until the IDoc is green.

Then you know the required field and can exactly build an interface similar to Idoc structure containing those required fields. The mapping will be pretty easy. The xsd of the corresponding message type should be delivered to the party sending the rates.

Udo
