Good day Mentors,
I understand that their have been a lot of questions, in the Reporting sub-forum of B1, regarding the usage of the BI Stack(SSIS,SSRS,SSAS) for B1.
Technically, there is nothing wrong about it since SSRS will just be reading from SQL Server.
Most replies in this forum will refer to [this|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/10118] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]; blog post by Mr Nordstru00F6m.
I just want to clarify the section of the blog post on the licensing part.
When SAP B1 is shipped, included in the box will be the B1 installers in optical media. Along side that will be the SQL Server optical media. I assume that the SQL Server was licensed under SAP, so does this mean that we are not licensed to use the BI stack of SQL Server since we got our SQL Server license from SAP?
The blog post was written in 2008. Could there have been changes to this?
Thanks in advance and Happy New Year to all!
