Data Sources not Loading Data.

Hi Gurus,

I have loaded data from R/3 from the tables KEKO and CKIS using the data sources ZKEKO and ZCKIS to the info source 0CO_PC_PCP_10. After loading the data the info package monitor shows data has been successfully loaded it also shows the number of records ZKEKO – 356 records and ZCKIS – 2348 records. But when I report on the cube excluding the old requests, it does not return any data.

Does this mean that the new data sources ZKEKO and ZCKIS are not loading data from R/3.

Please help me resolve this issue.

Thanks everyone,

After creating the new Info source I cannot assign the data source to it. Because when I pick the Source system it is not giving me the option of picking these two data sources since I have already picked them.

If I use the same info source is there a way to restrict 1st data source from returning data and only have the other two to return data.

If some of the fields I need to be displayed in the Cube are not in the data source how should I proceed about it.

There is a icon against all the requests in the 'Manage' tab of the infocube which says 'Request available for reporting'. Is this set for your requests?

Is there any earlier old requests in the manage tab which is in red? If yes, delete them and try.

I have a few fields in the data source, which is not there in my cube. One of such field is 0COSTDATE. For the other fields there are no info objects in the BW side.

Should I create the info objects in BW? After doing so is there anything else I have to see the data from the new data source in the report.

Yes Sandhya, you can create new InfoObjects, if no currently existing objects can be mapped to the fields of your data source. You would need to include these new InfoObjects in the Communication structure and create the transfer rules. Further include these InfoObjects in your InfoCube and adjust the update rules and activate them. This should get you the data you are looking for.

Hi Sandhya,

1. If you do need the fields in your R/3 datasource in BW data targets, you need to map them to the corresponding infoobjects in the InfoSource.

2. If you do not have corresponding infoobjects for the R/3 fields in the current BW system, either you can look at the business content (and activate these infobjects from Business Content) or alternatively you can create custom infoobjects.

3. Once you have equivalent infoobjects (either from BC or custom creation) for your datasource fields, you need to go into infosource maintenance and add these infoobjects in the communication structure definition, and map the datasource/transfer structure fields to the appropriate infoobjects and activate the infosource.

4. Afterwards, you need to create the update rule for the associated data targets from these infoobjects.

5. Then, you should be able to load the data and at this point you should be able to see the data based on your selection criteria in LISTCUBE transaction.

I followed as you have mentioned, it shows the number of records in the Manage screen of the Cube and also in the monitor. When I go to the details tab everything is in green. It also shows the number of records(356) arrived in BW. In processing data also it is green and it shows that (388)new records are added.

But only in the report it does not return any data.

Since I have uploaded two new data sources (ZCKIS & ZKEKO) do I have to make any changes in the update rules or in the cube level.

Hi Sandhya,

Can you run the transaction LISTCUBE, Object type:CUBE, and data target:<your cube name> and specify your selection for the characteristics. If you do see some data in this approach, then you would have to look at your query definition/selection for the data.

Hi Sandhya,

On the monitor > details tab > Processing > Data Package > Update > heer there should be a line 388 records added to fact table YRCUBE. Can you see this?

You can check your Update rules to see if the fields delivered by ZCKIS & ZKEKO are being loaded to InfoObject in your cube.

Are you doing the 0REQUID selection in your query...are you sure you have selected the correct requests? Try looking at the data through LISTCUBE...

Hi Sandhya,

In the monitor, check to see the number of records loaded into the InfoCube (on the details tab)...may be you have some code in the transfer / update rules that is eliminating the data...you can also see the number or records loaded by these requests in the Cube > Manage > Requests tab.
