PO short text overwrite by Contract

Hi,

I am creating a PO for Service which doesnt have a Material Number. I need to refer the Contract number for those buys. When i am refering the Contract, it is overwritting the PO shorttext with what i have maintained in the Contract.

I dont want to happen this. Please advice this on what needs to be done for making this inactive. Thanks in Advance.

Hi,

Try removing Contract source object (Target text - Header text) from text linkages under below path:

In case of Header text --> SPRO - Materials Management - Purchasing - Purchase Order - Texts for Purchase Orders - Define Copying Rules for Header Texts.

In case of item text --> SPRO - Materials Management - Purchasing - Purchase Order - Texts for Purchase Orders - Define Copying Rules for Item Texts.

The copy rule for header and item text are not for the short text of PO, in this way cannot solve this problem.

I have the same issue for this, but still not solved.

Sorry. I misunderstood the question.

I have tested in my system and noticed PR line item text has been given priority than contract text.

We are in ECC 6.0 with release 605.

Hi,

the short text will automatically flow from the contract that you have defined. but, however the short text field is editable.

Kindly follow below and check if it works -

Please execute ME21N and give the reference of contract which will give you a default short text. If you want to change this, then you can simply delete this and rewrite with the desired short text. the system should allow you to do this unless the short text field is kept as display only in the config settings.

but I want to know if possible to don't overwrite the short text by contract. I don't want to update it every time, I hope it can take the short text from PR other than contract.
