Data Source Elimination

Former Member

Hi Gurus,

We have replicated three data sources 0CO_PC_PCP_03, ZCKIS and ZKEKO under the info source 0CO_PC_PCP_10. Now we want to see how the report data looks like without having the data source 0CO_PC_PCP_03 data. Is there a way to proceed by eliminating this data source and just having ZCKIS and ZKEKO, temporarily to see how the data looks like.

Thanks,

Sandhya.

Thanks a lot Bhanu,

When I follow the steps. I can see older requests with the red and blue (Little query icon) in the second column as you have mentioned but the newer requests the ones that I have been uploading from the past four days do not show the icon in the second column.

Am I going wrong somewhere in uploading the requests?

Is there a way to make the requests available for reporting manually?

Hi Sandhya,

Are you loading to a cube or ODS? If to a cube, do you have aggregates? Can you click the monitor icon in the row of the request which is not available for reporting, and check to see if it has completed successfully..? If there is a red request, you will need to delete that. else all requests after that one (red one) will also not be available for reporting, even if the ones fater the red one are green.

Hope this helps...

Hi Bhanu,

Thanks for helping me resolve the issue. I am actually loading into a custom cube. No I do not have any aggregates for this cube.

I was not actually deleting the red requests. Once I did that it solved the issue and is now available for reporting.

Thanks once again.

Hi Bhanu,

Could you please let me know the steps of Excluding the Request IDs in the query.

Could you also help with the steps in making Requests available for reporting.

Thanks

Hi Sandhya,

When data is successfully loaded to your cube, the requests are always available for reporting (unless there are aggregates that have not been rolled up, or you are reporting off an ODS and the data has not been activated). You can verify this by RSA1 > yr InfoCube > right Click > Manage > Request tab... here you can see all the requests loaded into your cube. The little blue and red icon that you see in the second column (after th erequest number) means that data loaded by this request will be shown in your reports.

To exclude or inlcude particular request IDs in your query, open up the query in the query designer, and from the Dimension Data Package (the last one), take 0REQUID and put it in the filter or free chars area of your query. Then right click and restrict it by the request IDs whose data you want to see. You can match the request ids with your cube (right click Manage)...

So either take all the request IDs that are not the 0CO_PC_PCP_03 ones, or take all the 0CO_PC_PCP_03 requests and then exclude (they will look red in the query designer).

Hope this helps...

Hi Sandhya,

If you have done just a few loads of 0CO_PC_PCP_03, you can exclude those request IDs in your query definition.

Hope this helps...

Hi sandhya!

i will follow bhanu's suggestion. You can restrict the values in Query designer. by using thecharecterstic for requestid 0Reqid (from datapackage dimention).

hope it helps.
