You have to transfer the already posted data from FI (table BSEG) to your Special Ledger tables.

    Please see SAP help:

"You can use program RGUREC10 to transfer data from the FI System to the FI-SL System. When you start the transfer program, you can specify which data is to be transferred to FI-SL"

    Special Purpose Ledger

Special Purpose Ledgers are used if data cannot be analyzed used standard functions in FICO.

In Special Purpose Ledgers, Ledgers are defined for reporting purposes. These ledgers are defined with various account assignment objects which can be Standard SAP account assignment objects or Customer Defined objects.

A company having a fairly rich management reporting requirement, in which information comes from other application areas. This information has to be regrouped and enhanced to provide summarized data in chosen combinations.

    Comparison with Standard Ledger

In Standard Ledger, tables and ledgers are delivered by SAP, whereas in Special Purpose Ledger, the tables and ledgers are defined by Customer.

General Ledger (FIGL), Reconciliation Ledger (COCEL), Profit Center (ECPCA), Consolidation (FILC) are examples of Standard Ledgers delivered by SAP.

Special Purpose ledger takes account assignment fields from the standard ledgers.

Data flow/Integration with other R/3 applications

o Data flows into FI-SL from other SAP applications like FI, CO, MM, SD, etc. (The data flow is on a real time basis or at a later stage by running a batch session)

o Data also flows into FISL from other external systems i.e. Non SAP applications. (The data flow is on a real time basis or at a later stage by running a batch session)

o Direct postings can also be done in FI-SL (e.g. correction postings, etc.)

o Data flowing into SAP is validated or substituted using user exits. This validation or substitution is done by the Integration Manager

o Data is processed using planning, allocation, rollups, currency translations, balance c/fd.

o Processed Data is thrown up as information system reports using Report Painter / Report Writer.

The use of Special Purpose Ledger offers the following advantages

o Flexible database structure with additional fields

Own database tables and selective fields can be created that meet specific business needs

o Alternative Fiscal Year with various fiscal year variants

Posting Periods and Fiscal Year Variants in FI-SL can be different that the one used in Standard FICO.

    o Validations/Substitutions

Valid data can be received by FI-SL by using validations and substitutions. Validations and Substitutions can be used to check and substitute data at the time it is entered.

    o Coding Block

§ The account assignment block while entering documents is called a coding block.

§ New fields (as per users requirement) can be added to the coding block

§ The additional field added automatically updates the standard database tables to include the new fields.

§ Upto 18 additional account assignment fields can be defined.

    o Characteristics & Key Figures

§ Examples of Characteristics are GL account no., Business area, functional area, cost center, etc.

§ Key figures are values stored against this characteristics e.g. Currency and Quantity.

    o Database Tables

§ Data send to FI-SL is stored in a group of tables. These tables are to be configured by the user

§ Tables names are to be begin with ZZ prefix

    - Object Table

Object tables stores the characteristics needed. The sender-receiver relationship for the characteristics is defined in the object tables.

    - Summary Table

Summary Tables stores the total balances

    - Line Item Table

Line Item tables store the document information for the totals stored in summary table

    o Master Data

    § Special Purpose Ledgers

After configuring the tables, we define special purpose ledgers. Special Purpose Ledger stores required data or combination of data from the above tables. Data flows into Special Purpose Ledger based on Field Movements and Activities.

    § Field Movements

From the activities we can select the fields, which are to be transferred from the original document to FISL document. Validations and Substitutions can be used against the Field Movements, so that only selective data goes into FISL.

    § Activities

Transactions entering FISL from SAP or other external applications are transferred to the interface as activities. Examples of activities are FI Posting (RFBU), Goods Issue (RMWA), Sales Invoice (SD00).

    o Planning

Plan Data can be input to FISL and thrown up as budgets, forecasts and other reports using Report Writer.

    o Periodic Processing

    § Allocations

Using Allocations, we can transfer data an original posting amount from one object to another object.

    § Rollups

When you create a report in the FI-SL System, the Report Writer reads the ledgers that contain the data for your report. If the ledgers contain extensive records, system performance is slower. To improve system performance, you can create a rollup ledger that contains summarized and condensed data from one or more ledgers.

A rollup ledger is the summarization of the information from one or more ledgers (source ledgers) into a single ledger. Each record in the rollup ledger is a summary of the records in other ledgers.

    § Currency Translations

Data is input into FISL in three currencies (Transaction Currency, Company Code Currency, Group Currency). Currency translations and adjusting postings can be carried out for the entered data.

    o Information Systems

    § Report Writer

Report Writer function selects data from Special Purpose Ledgers and presents them in the format required by the user.

    Hi Expert,

Transfer FI data to SPL Tables, so that you can execute the reports.
