concurrent active users in SAP System

Former Member

Hi Friends,

I want to know below information about how to get concurrent active

users in the system.

Information that I have is as below:

SM04 - Active users on one application server

AL08 - Active users on all application servers logged in globally

report - CCUINIT to initialise measurement of concurrent users.

CCUEVAL to get the output of report CCUINIT.

Question is why there is a difference in no. of active users from AL08

(todays highest is 1800 ) & output of CCUEVAL (todays highest is 240)?

Also do we have any mechanism to get no. of concurrent users in the

past?

Please share your expert views.

Thanks.

Best Regards

Dear Sachin,

Regarding your doubts kindly refer the following SAP Notes:

839847 - System measurement: differences between CCUEVAL and Al08

1560657 - System measurement: Function CCUEVAL is obsolete

Hi Abhishek,

Thanks. I have already referred to 1st note, 2nd not says that CCUEVAL is obsolete.

So in this case, how to get concurrent active users count then.

as per 1st note - if say USER1 is logged in 6 application servers, AL08 iwill count it as 6

while in CCUEVAL it will be counted as 1 which is logical.

but as per 2nd note if output of CCUEVAL cannot be relied upon, then what is the best way to get the conncurrrent active users count

I require concurrent active users count for sizing purpose & hence want it to be as pricise as possible.

Dear Sachin,

Please note that CCUEVAL is not be relied only in case of HTTP users. If you do not have HTTP users then the report can be relied.

You can also use the CCMS system to determine information about the users who are logged on.

For the concurrent users, it is best to use AL08 as this will show you the current state of the system.

For active users, you can get a list by running the following:

Tcode ST03

Expand 'Load History and Distribution'

Then open 'Users per Instance'

Double click on the instance or use the total option to list all

the users with their respective Dialog Steps.

Hello Abhishek,

We have HTTP users in system.

AL08 - gives cumulitive users count.

St03n is similar to AL08

so AL08 , ST03n & CCUEVAL is ruled out.

can we think of any other method of getting concurrent active users count ?

Dear Sachin,

Then you should check out the CCMS option.

Hi Sachin,

You can take a look into the following path:

RZ20 -> SAP CCMS Monitor Templates -> Dialog Overview -> Users Logged On

There you will find the information that you are looking for.

Hi Abhishek,

I saw your reply today.

I knew of this navigation. I thought you are talking about some thing else.

Anyways, users in CCMS are taken from AL08.

So it makes no sense, in our case.

What I want is full proof method to get "concurrent Active Users" in the system.

As I mentioned before, I need to be precise, as this will be used for sizing.

Hello Bhatt,

Please take a look at the below thread if you haven't done yet.

Hi Siva

Thanks, but as mentioned above inmy thread that CCUINIT & CCUEVAL do not consider PLUGIN-HTTP users & so the output of these reports cannot be completely relied upon.

Do you have any better idea?

Have you tried ST07-> HISTORY> DATE--> PERIOD DRILL DOWN, you can get the users logged in hourly and the report can be extended for up to 30 days.

Thanks

Hello Friends,

I am able to find the answer:

Concurrent Active users can be found via CCMS alerting.

Navigation below gives - concurrent users in the system:

RZ20 - CCMS Monitor Templates - System Configuration - SID - System Configuration - concurrent users.

You can get here currently active concurrent users & also value from last 24 hours.
