Solman7.1 SP04 configuration

Dear All,

I am new to Solution Manager, I have installed Solman7.1 with initial stack, without applying SP3 or SP4 I have started solman_setup at standard configuration but we faced abap dump error at MOPZ while calculating target stack for Ehp5 ECC6.0

During solman_setup with solman7.1 SP00 standard configuration I have faced the issues below

1) I have selected local SLD, and gave SLD data like host name : solman host etc because we dont have separate standalone central sld, we have systems like SAP ECC6.0 EHP5, PI7.3 and Portal 7.3, we are using PI7.3 system SLD is the Master SLD for ECC & Portal. So at the time of solman standard configuration SLD step we have selected local SLD and gave solman hostname for SLD host name. SLD task run successfully.

2) At LMDB step I am unable to complete it properly since my source and target sld is same so got confused how to perfom this step, user sldsmdagent doesnt exist with role SAP_SLD_CONTENT_SYNC, the role itself it not available in the solman system but I need to sync SLD and LMDB, since I dont know how to do so I have skipped that step and perfomed BASIC Cofiguration with Willy Agent steps keeping as postpond status

3) manually created systems in SMSY and creted the RFC's thro wizard also created solution for ECC because I need to upgrade to ECC HCM component to Ehp5 605 as my ECC is Central Application SAP_APPL 605 sp05 now, I am facing problem at the time of generating target stack file thro solman MOPZ (it is giving COVNT_DATA_LOSS ABAP Dump error) so we decided to apply latest patch SP04 for solman now. Just we completed the java patches SP04 and we are in the way of applying ABAP patches now.

Please guide how to config LMDB and MOPZ, where can I get step by step configuration guide for solman7.1? I really appreciate if anyone help me out.

Recommendation from Nicholas to update to SP04 is mandatory according with step 3 of note 1577909. Follow his recommendation to solve the bugs in solman.

Thanks for your response. As I mentioned in the message we are on the way of implementing SP04, and as per your suggessions we have completed the SP04 successfully also we are able to download the Ehp5 stack 05 files for ECC6.0 (addons, stack xml file etc). We have achived our primary target i.e. MOPZ

Now we want to configure solman7.1 completely once again like SLD and LMDB because we fail to configure LMDB as smdsldagent user with SLD_CONNECT_SYNC role is not created.

As per suggession we gone thro configuration guide of solman7.1 release but the below link

so please let me know step by step guide for solman7.1 as I need to do below things

1) SLD & LMDB ( I dont have separate SLD for Central SLD, we are using PI7,3 system SLD as the Master SLD for whole Landscape) so we have given solman host name for SLD hostname at the time of SLD configuration at solman_setup. Please advise us to complete this task

2) We need to configure Earlywatch and need to generate early watch on weekly basis for all the satellite systems

3) We need to configure service desk creation in solman7.1

4) We need to Willy interscope and monitoring all the satellite systems thro solman7.1 system.

So this is the target task which we need to complete. if we are getting guide to perform above said task, it could be really helpful for us.

However, i will give you an overview on how to configure the LMDB for your scenario:

1) Update CIM and CR content for your SOLMAN SLD to latest level

2) Setup a SLD bridge from your Master SLD to Solman SLD.

3) On all SLD info forwarded from Master SLD to Solman SLD, Configure you LMDB in solman_setup. You can set your SOLMAN SLD as local SLD.

4) once all the configuration completed, perform the SLD sync. This will normally take long.

5) Check the log and ensure the sync completed successfully.

Above are just my 2 cents worth and hope it helps,

Hi,

Solman 7.1 can't work properly with sp00. I would advise you to upgrade to SP04 to eliminate all the bugs and known problem and it will reduce your troubleshooting time significantly.
