Hi,

We have BO edge 4.0 Support Pack 2. We are about to upgrade to the patch 16. .

My first problem was this error : Installer has detected that a previous operation did not complete.

I resolved this problem by renaming the InstallDir Folder.

I have an other  problem when I try to install it, I have this error : Detect BI paltform Server  4.0 Installed. Reason : this update is for BI platform server 4.0, which has not been detected on the system.

We are running Windows 2008 x64 R2.

Could you tell me how can I resolve this problem ?
It is very urgent for us.

You cannot just delete InstallDir folder.

You need to investigate why patch install was thinking that your original install is not complete.

Also, I do not believe that there are Edge patches yet, they supposed to come at/after FP3 RTC...

Hi Denis,

Thank you for your replay

I already investigated  to know why I have this error but I did not find. I found  this solution to delete or rename the InstallDir Folder.

For the patch, I found it under https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/installations in
Support Packages and Patches -  SBOP EDGE BI" SBOP EDGE BI 4.0/Comprised Software Component Versions/Windows on X64 64bit

Thanks,

Souad

Just a follow up on this. We went ahead with the upgrade. Backup was done prior of CMS and entire BO Directory.

Notes.

1. Once upgrade was complete we could not access the CMS via web

2. Solution: Disable tomcat server. Rename the localhost to localhost.old in the tomcat folder.

3. Start tomcat server, this will rebuild the webstructure (wait around 20 to 30 minutes for this)

4. access CMS and BI Launch pad

Hi,

You can directly upgrade from SP 2 to FP 2.6, just take the backup of Business Objects folder or drive.

Thanks,

Sravanthi.
