Is Deactivation of Classic GL table GLT0 required in a new installation

Dear All

Our client is upgrading to ECC6 by way of a fresh implementation.

As New GL is activated by default in case of a fresh installation, I wanted to know if the updation of the classic GL tables like GLT0 also deactivated by default?

I posted some documents and found that they are updated in FAGLFLEXT table and not in GLT0 table.

Please provide your inputs if GLT0 updation is deactivated by default?

Thanks and Regards

Hi

Friend,

check this links

C:\Documents and Settings\pjanil\Desktop\IMPORTANT\Ledgers\Migration from Classic General Ledger to New General Ledger SAP Materials, Documents, Tutorials.mht

Switch menus (Classic to new GL and vice-versa)

If you are using New G/L and still the you want to use the classic (old) menu, below are the reports and transactions which can be used.

Transaction: FAGL_ACTIVATION- > to activate/deactivate new g/l or View: V_FAGL_ACTIVEC

Report: RFAGL_SWAP_MENU_NEW ==> Activate/Deactivate New Menu

RFAGL_SWAP_MENU_OLD ==>Activate/Deactivate Old Menu

RFAGL_SWAP_IMG_NEW ==> Activate/Deactivate New Implementation Guide

RFAGL_SWAP_IMG_OLD ==> Activate/Deactivate Old Implementation Guide

Dear All

Thanks for the response.

All I really want to know is that: Is the updation of classic GL tables like GLT0 automatically disabled in case of a new ECC6 installation? I noticed this because I made some postings and the same were not updated in GLT0 table but the same was updated in FAGLFLEXT table. Therefore I wanted to know if classic GL tables updations is deactivated by default?

My client is activating new GL but they have lot of Z programs of the past in which there might be a reference to the classic GL tables, so this information is necessaary

I hope I made my query more clear now.

Await inputs !!

Thanks

check you classical g/l table status through below path

Deactivate Update of Classic General Ledger (GLT0

Path: SPRO- FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING (NEW)-TOOLS-Deactivate Update of Classic General Ledger (GLT0) inside thsis

two fields are there ( below)

1. write classical general ledger

2. read classical general leadger

once you remove the tick marks then GLT0 wont get updated
