before extracting from r/3 to bi we do some settings in r/3 what is that?

To transfer and activate a DataSource delivered by SAP with Business Content, in transaction SBIW in the source system choose Business Information Warehouse à Business Content DataSources or Activating SAP Business Content àTransfer Business Content DataSources.

The following screen displays the DataSources in an overview according to the application component.

this is one time job . first time you need to do this one .

Go to transaction SBIW in source system there you can maintain different settings regarding extraction in various tree nodes.

Hi ANITHA,

Before you do the extraction from R/3 .... u have to do the following steps:

1. RSA6 check your datasource if its not acive then activate it.

2. For Logistic application data source then follow LBWE.

3.Onece the datasource is activated then if u need to so any enhancemenet then u can do it by CMOD.

4. if u have the LO -extractor then fill the setup table using IMG path SBIW ---> Settings for Application-Specific DataSources (PI) -

>Initialization -

>Filling in the Setup Table or you can use t-code OLIXXBW to fill the setup table directly ..XX define the application umber .

5. Once done use the t-code SPRO for setting.

6. Run the Info pacakge at BW to fetch the data to BI

7. Its done.

You need to Trabsfer the Global setting using tcode SPRO .

Hi,

Suppose if you are loading data using LO Datasources then the below steps need to be followed in source system when you are loading it for the first time.

a. Deletion of Setup Table using Tcode u2018lbwgu2019(give the respective datasources logistics application number and execute).

b. Filling up of Setup Table using Tcode u2018oli3bwu2019(give the name of the run starting with u2018Zu2019 and give some future date and execute).

c. Or the above 2 steps can be performed using Tcode u2018sbiwu2019( Settings for Application-Specific DataSources (PI)> Logistics>Managing Extract Structures-->Above mentioned 2 steps)

Hi,

Please specify whether you are extracting data from standard datasource or generic datasource.

In both the cases make sure that ur datasource is active. You can check the same in RSA6 in your source system.
