Web UI Vs Webshop

We have WEB UI and Web Shop implemented in our project. We are on SAP CRM 6.0.

We are about to implement a custom functionality and would like to know which channel to select for implementing this functionality u2013 Web Shop or Web UI.

Need your inputs in understanding which of them performs better u2013 JSP or BSP component.

Any inputs or pointers in this regard will be of great help. Thanks.
