REPORTS folder does not appear when refreshing dynamic templates

Hi all,

I got one issue when refreshing dynamic templates. For one application, the REPORTS folder does not appear under Eexcel folder.

It works well on my quality environment, but it fails on production server.

It seems there is no differences in security settings, SP version...

I already tried deleting Outlooksoft folder, clear and refresh local folder in client options...

I must miss something but I dont know what to check anymore.

Any suggestion is welcome.

Thanks

Antoine

Hi Antoine,

You mentioned that, for one application, the REPORTS folder does not appear under Eexcel folder.

Are you referring to the folders within the Webfolder -> Data?

If you go to <BPC installation path>\Data\Webfolders\<appset>\<application>\eExcel, you not able to see the report folder there?

If this is the case, you can copy the report folder from the planning folder under apshell to your application.

Hope this helps.

Hi Neil,

I do not have issue with what you mention, everything is ok in Webfolder.

The problem is in the local folder of every user in My Documents folder.

There is a folder Outlooksoft there that is refreshed automatically after connecting to BPC.

Every reports under REPORTS\WIZARDS should be there. Users need to access this folder to open a specific report.

What is strange is that it looks that it works for some users, but does not work for some other users...

Might be security settings?

Hi Antoine,

try to rename your local folder and after open excel and click on logon. BPC should recreate the local folder, is now there the report folder?

Kind regards

Hi Roberto,

I even tried to delete the local folder. When I log on, the folder is generated again, except it always stops at Eexcel folder.

Eexcel folder is always empty, but it should contains Reports folder..

Any other suggestion?

Hi Antoine,

if you don't see more the subfolders on local eexcel try to uninstall BPC, deleting all the related folder (Outlooksoft, PM_MS, etc.) even in Documents&settings, and reinstall the client.

Kind regards

I tried already but the problem remains.

Could it be security settings?

Or something related to environment? My customer updated the latest SP (10) on BPC 7.0 MS, they use Windows 7 now with Excel 2010.

But as I said, it works when I test it on quality server, but fails on Production server (environment are the same in both servers).

Any other suggestion?

Hi Antoine,

I don't think that it's related with security settings.

Try to copy the folder from the server to the client manually and see if it's work.

Hi Roberto,

First happy new year.

I've been off for a while.

I tried and it works as long as I don't clear the local folder.

If I clear the local folder and refresh it again, it still does not create REPORTS folder.

They have around 450 users who need this folder but do not have access to the server folder, so it would be better to have this function working...

I am still exploring.

Regards.

Hi Antoine,

happy new year to you too.

Please check on the servers if there are differences between the 2 eexcel subfolders (test and production) something like

a wrong/different name, more subfolders or files (if so try to add it) and after force the creation of the local PC_MS folder (renaming it) and see if it works.

Kind regards

Roberto

Hi Roberto,

I actually found what was the issue.

In the SYTEM FILES folder on the server, there are zip files that contain all the reports under Wizard.

I got duplicated zip files. One zip with the REPORTS folder, one zip empty.

After I deleted SYSTEM FILES folder and connect to excel again, only one set of zip files appeared.

And it works now. The REPORTS folder is refreshed on user machine.

Thanks for your help anyway!!
