SAP BO Universe for SAP Controlling data

Hi,

Can any one guide me how to build an universe in SAP BO over SAP ECC Controlling tables / data (if no middle ware i.e., no SAP BI in between SAP BO and SAP ECC).

In SAP BI we have to build an Operating Concern to build a Data Source for Controlling data. what is the process used here.

Please guide me how to build an Universe on Controlling Tables, do we need Operating Concern or do we needn't. List of the steps to be carried out.

Hi,

Actually we don't have option to create Universe on ECC tables. But we can create Universe through DATA SERVICES(SAP Module). Go to DATA SERVICES DESIGNER create Data base(blank) Right click and select Import tables and select table names which are available in R3. after completion of importing Right click on DB and select create Universe.

SAP DS is ETL tool It's version is XI 3.3. search in google.

Thanks for the replay vishali, i know there must be a data service in between... but in sap bo edge series standard version pack there is no data services pack available. my company is going for the standard version and i am a bi consultant working on the issue to know is the any option too go through with the universe insted of BVM and Crystal report and have a big doubt over operating concern.

hi Vaishali,

i need to conenct a ECC program from BO 4 . can we connect Abap program also from SAP DS?

than IDT universe and than Report ?
