Kernel upgrade to 720 EXT - could not open ICU common library

Hi,

We are upgrading the Kernel on our systems to 720 EXT. Everything goes smoothly for our ABAP applications but we are running into an issue for our Java and Dual-stack applications. When we look at the std_dispatcher.out file under the /usr/sap/PD2/JC40/work directory we see the following error:

We have been following the Note: 1636252: Installing a 7.20 Kernel in SAP Web AS 7.00/7.01/7.10/7.11 but we are still running into issues.

Hi Ravi,

I reviewed those notes but it does not seem that they are applicable. I am already using the IGS 7.20 EXT with the new Kernel 7.20 EXT.

I appreciate the info though.

Hi Abdul,

Could you verify that updated version of these lib* files are available in the kernel directory. As per my practical experience some of these files do not get overwritten when copy the new kernel.

In such a case we used to rename the old files and then copy the new ones.

1737528  - AS JAVA doesn't start with 7.20 kernel

1747984  - Failed to deploy application sap.com/tc~wd~dispwda

You need to update four JAVA core components because of 720 kernel.
