Copy Route from Shipment to Delivery

Greetings

I have a client that wants to copy the Route in the Shipment back into the previously created Delivery.

All SAP help documentation, and all forums I have reviewed to date, do not show this as a option, nor do they recommend doing this activity. I would like to verify this is true, and understand implications of doing so.
