New XI 3.0 Sizing Guide avaliable?

Former Member

Hi -

I heard rumors that there should be a new sizing guide for XI 3.0 available since beginning of April 2005.

Is that true? I can only find the one from July 2004 (version 1.1).

Thanks,

Stefan

Hi,

As of tomorrow, XI 3.0 will be available for customers and partners in the Quick Sizer (http://service.sap.com/quicksizing). The sizing guidelines include an initial and an advanced sizing based on different possible scenario definitions.

All you need to create a sizing project is a valid SAP customer number and access to the Service Marketplace.

Best regards,

Susanne

I am looking for a Sizing Guide for SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.0 or 3.1 Sizing Guide.

I don't see anything in the Quick Sizer tool for this product..

Hi,

Can someone please help me with sizing the network for XI?

I know that XI uses a fat client and uses more bandwidth than SAP GUI. Can someone please let me know how much bandwidth is required for each developer doing development on XI server.?

Thanks,

Karan

Hi Karan,

I wouldn't really call it a fat client. In general, 10 KB per transferred object sizes or query results.

For calculate the network bandwidth, you can use the paper: sizing frontend network load at service.sap.com/sizing -> media library -> literature.

Best regards,

Susanne

Hi Sussane,

The media library literature only specifies about SAP GUI as the front end. I wish to know the details regarding the Integration repository and the Integration directory.

Can you please be more specific regarding the 10K per transferred object?

Thanks,

Karan

Hi James -

they anounced a new guide, but the link still refers to the v.1.1 from July 2004.

Here is the link:

Hi Stefan and James,

The sizing guide is indeed from last year, but was the most current in my possesion. I am working on obtaining a more recent one and will update and post as soon as possible.

Marilyn
