ODBC Error installing 7.01

Hi there,

I'm trying to install NW 7.01 with SQL Server 2008 as the back end on Windows 2008 R2.

However I keep getting this error:

ODBC driver for MS SQL Server is not installed. SOLUTION: Read the installation guide on how to install the MS SQL Server client software for the SAP system.

Can someone point me to the correct document or give me some tips on why I might be getting this install error?

Hello,

Did you download the MS SQL Server 2008 R2 DVDs from 'OSS' (Enterprise edition is supported) ?

During which phase of installation do you get this SAP error ?

I see another old thread with similar discussion, but I am not sure whether you should do that.

Hello,

Looks to be mandatory also for W2012 R2 / SQL2012 SP2, especially for a NW 7.1 EHP1 Composition Environment installation
