Hello all
I am trying (in SAP Netweaver Developer Studio) to customize the MDK preferences.
When I press the "Test Settings" button this happens
1) Popup with error message "Could not create the Java virtual machine"
2) Browser opens with url http://192.168.1.3:4444/mi - but: "Server could not be found"
3) Behind the browser a new popup says:
- 'C:\j2sdk1.4.2_06\lib\tools.jar' found
- Connection to MI successful.
- Invoking browser was succesful.
4) Another popup opens with the same message "Could not create the Java virtual machine"
Is this JVM error related to the server or to the pc running SAP Netweaver Developer Studio ?
Best regards

Hi, yes, in order to develop an MI application, you need an MI client installed. The MI client exists for Mobile devices like PDAs as well as for the Windows PC where your MDK / IDE is running on.

Hi Thomas:
Make sure you have the MI Installation Folder setup correctly in your MDK Settings. You would be able to see this under Windows>>>Preferences, then select MDK.You should have the file path specified in the MI Installation Folder and probably you will see the Java SDKtools.jar file path,if not make sure the tools.jar path is correct. To setup the MI Installation Folder, try installing the MI CLient first if you have not installed it.
Thx
Siva

Hello Siva
Thanks for your reply.
The MI installation Folder setup in my MDK preferences is just an empty folder - c:\mi2.5
I don't exactly understand - must I install the MI client to do development ? Is the MI client not to be installed on the mobile devices ?
Best regards
