Good day,
We're currently using BPC 7.0 MS and are looking at long range plans. In that regard, we're trying to determine if it makes sense to upgrade to 7.5 MS or go straight to 10.0 MS. (Can we go straight to 10.0 or must we do 7.5 first?)
Also hoping that someone can point me to succinct listings of the benefits of each upgrade. What do we gain if we do just 7.5? What does 10.0 bring to the table? I've come across some data but don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone has a nice neat list somewhere.
Thanks!
Hi Kim,
you can upgrade directly from 7.0 to 10.0, please see the "SBOP Plan & Consol 10.0 MS Upgrade Guide" in "10.0, version for the Microsoft platform " at this link
For the difference between 7.5 to 10 please see the short file

in february 2012 should be available the 10.0 so I think you can wait and upgrade directly to 10.0.
Kind regards
Roberto

Hi Kim,
To add, here are some new features/enhancements in BPC 10:

Full support for Microsoft Office 2010
Enhanced integration with EPM applications and source systems via Financial Information Management (FIM)
Full Unicode and 64 bit support
Automated variance analysis (AVA) ... replaces Insight
Enhanced consolidation capabilities ... Consolidation Central
Performance enhancements (data input/retrieval, larger dimensions, work status optimized, faster data
imports)
Change and transport management system (CTS+) ... see this blog for more details

With BPC 7.5 the only high level changes from version 7.0 is having better reporting capabilities using BusinessObjects BI products via the ODBO provider, authentication with BusinessObjects, and having data integration using FIM.
Please see the [Release Notes for SBOP Plan & Consol for Microsoft 10.0 |http://service.sap.com/form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000720970&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000112&_OBJECT=011000358700000469872011E] and the [Release Notes for SBOP Plan & Consol for Microsoft 7.5|http://service.sap.com/form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000720970&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000112&_OBJECT=011000358700001378452009E] for some further information.
I would recommend waiting for BPC 10.
Thanks,
John
