    Hello,

when you pass the active year in assets, and go to next year which is inactive all your asset postings are available in last year at your case Dec 2011. system will not accept posting in jan 2012 ( in assets ) unless you do the fiscal year change

    regards,

Simultaniously you can open two fiscal years for Asset accounting.

So, you can close your asset accounting in jan or feb of 2012 after completion of all your entries.

If there is no pending and you have done everything then you can close asset accounting on 31st decemebtself.
