How to Refresh Dashboard chart using javascript ?

39 Views

Hi,

I have created a dashboard report (chart).

i need to refresh the chart (swf) by setting the a flash variable on click of a button, outside of dashboard (in a html page).

Note : I don't want to use the Connection Refresh button available in the dashboard. But a button residing in the HTML page.

This button should set a flashvariable and refresh the chart. Also on refresh only the data residing inside the chart should be refreshed. The entire swf file should not be downloaded. (Similar functionality of the Connection Refresh button).

How can i achieve this ?

I have used the following code (javascript) on the button click. But it doesn't work.

if(window.myMovieName) {

document.myMovieName.SetVariable("FlashVars", "SelectedYear=2011");

}

if(document.myMovieName)

{

document.myMovieName.SetVariable("FlashVars", "SelectedYear=2011");

}

Pls help ,

Thanks,

Ebin
