Hi,
What is the main criteria while setting up planning area in DP or SNP from performance point of view? I mean should we consider total no of CVC or length planning horizon ?
regards,
subram
Hi,
We need to consider both CVC volumes and Length of the horizon,
In addition to this the following criteria also need to be considered.
- Number of chars in the MPOS (influences CVC length)
- Combination of Keyfigures & CVC ( cvc count * no of KF)
- In our experience 5 lacs CVCs with 40 KFs (without aggregates) gives a reasonable performance
But this would vary across implementation based on system config, Characteristics, KFs, aggregates etcc...
So in your case you can use quicksizer to check if your system config supports the data volumes and then post that
monitor system performance with increasing data volumes to take a call on formation of a new planning area.

Ashok
