Relative URL for KM document

Dear Experts-

We have document uploaded to KM. We are using this document in webdynpro ABAP application. I can put the url as

http://host:5000/i50000/irj/go/km/docs/documents/text.html in the webdypro view

and users are able to access the link.

But we don't want to have host name and port there. Is it possible to access the document with any relative URL

Please let me know.

Thanks,

John.

We had done simillar requirement sometime back using a custom solution.

    1. ECC will have a Z table with system details link host name, port etc of the portal server. Key field for the table will be the system id of the ECC system

    2. In the WD application, based on the system information retrieved from sy-<> variable, the correct host name and portal is feteched

    3. Then a simple url concatenation of host name + port + "/irj/go/km/docs/documents/text.html"

Anyway the last part of the url will be constant and it can be stored in a constant. You can also include fields for http protocol if you want in the Z table. This would be a good idea as in some cases the production portal could be https://

or else you can try this solution as well http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1403648

    Regards,

    Mahesh
