ECL: view TIF documents inplace

Hello,

I want to view TIF files via ECL view direct in SAP. In our development system it works, but in our productive system I will get a message to store documents on local harddrive.

I want to block this dialog box.

I have checked all settings in transaction OAG1, DC20 and DC30 and also checked this WIKI for help.

I have these entries in DC20

NT Datentraeger NT-Workstation C:Temp

PC Datentraeger PC c: emp

UX Datenträger Unix Workstation /tmp

WW Datentraeger WIN for Workgrp.Station C:Temp

and in DC30 I tried these entries for TIF

NT TIF 1 EAIWeb.webviewer2D.1 %SAP-CONTROL%

NT TIF 3 EAIWeb.webviewer2D.1 %SAP-CONTROL%

PC TIF 1 EAIWeb.webviewer2D.1 %SAP-CONTROL%

PC TIF 3 EAIWeb.webviewer2D.1 %SAP-CONTROL%

WW TIF 1 EAIWeb.webviewer2D.1 %SAP-CONTROL%

WW TIF 3 EAIWeb.webviewer2D.1 %SAP-CONTROL%

But the document does not open in with inplace ECL viewer.

Is there anybody who can help me?

Hi,

Could you check whether you have applied SAP note 0001502912 on your development system.

If yes, you need to apply the same in production environment as well.

I have created these entries in DC30 in our development system.

FAX FAX --> TIFF File TIF *.tif, *.tiff, *.FAX, *.fax

TIF TIFF File TIF *.tif, *.tiff, *.fax, *.FAX

NT FAX 1 FAX --> TIFF File EXPLORER

NT FAX 3 FAX --> TIFF File EXPLORER

PC FAX 1 FAX --> TIFF File EXPLORER

PC FAX 3 FAX --> TIFF File EXPLORER

WW FAX 1 FAX --> TIFF File EXPLORER

WW FAX 3 FAX --> TIFF File EXPLORER

NT TIF 1 TIFF File EXPLORER

NT TIF 3 TIFF File EXPLORER

PC TIF 1 TIFF File EXPLORER

PC TIF 3 TIFF File EXPLORER

WW TIF 1 TIFF File EXPLORER

WW TIF 3 TIFF File EXPLORER

But the changes do not have an effect on the opening process in the development system... It is a little bit strange.

Perhaps there is an other customizing or something else that overwrites these definitions in DC30???

Hey,

on my workstation there is still SAP Logon 720 and ECL Viewer 7 with Patchlevel 7 installed.

I do not thin, that there is a problem with ECL viewer directly. In the development system i can open the documents the way I want to do this. I have checked the customizing of both systems, but I do not no where the problem is. Perhaps I have missed some customizing...

configure Explorer as the program name in the Workstation Application section for Tif images

thanks for your qucik reply. But your hint does not solve the problem. The note is implemented via support packages.

The problem is not the opening of the document... When the document will be openend, transaction SDV starts, but the documents does not come up inplace of the ECL viewer. There comes a popup with the question where to store the document on local drive. After downloading Windows PicturePublisher starts to show the TIFF document. But I do not want the external program. SAP should open the file directly.

Hi Markus,

Could you upgrade your Gui to 7.20 and apply latest ECL 7.0 and its latest patches.

This should help in resolving the issue.
