Chart based on calculated columns of crosstab

Hi experts,

I've created a report with a chart, based on a cross tab. In cross tab there are calculated columns (inserted by cross tab -> extended calculations -> calculated elements). Works fine, but now I need to display only the calculated columns in the chart, not the "real" columns, calculated based on. Is this possible? Found no related options in cross tab properties nor chart properties.

Thanks

-Phil

Hi Phil,

The chart off the cross-tab WILL show calculated columns and 'real' columns, can't do much about that.

I would suggest that you write a formula and use that in the chart instead.

Abhilash, that's a good point, thank you.

Unfortunately I can't define the formula based on a body-segment, because the X- and Z-axis of the chart are formulas by now (because of this I used a crosstab). So I need to calculate the Y-Value on the fly in the chart. Is there something in charts like the GridLabelAt() function in crosstabs?

btw: is there a reference concerning functions like GridLabelAt? CR Enterprise Userguide isn't very helpfull at this point.

thanks

Hi Phil,

Gridlabelat() and the other grid-row functions are ONLY available with cross-tabs.

Crystal Reports Help is the best place to look for examples (F1).

Hope this helps!

Solved my problem with three formulas for the X-Axis of my chart, as you proposed above, Abhilash. Thank you.

Btw: Concerning formulas in CR the websources driven by CR 2008-Experts seem to have quite a bit more of information than F1.
