Business Objects 4 Server - Linux vs Windows

Hi,

We have an existing 3.1 installation on HP-UX. This is no longer supported so we are reinstalling using BO 4.

There has been some discussion about Linux vs Windows. Disregarding matters of taste and fetish, is there any difference in capability between BO4 on these two platforms?

Hi,

on both OS`s you have the same functions within BI4.

With the current BI4 Version there is no support for HP-UX - this is subject to change in further releases. Maybe with a higher release like FP03 or BI4.x HP-UX will be supported.

If you need an official statement, i would recommend you open a OSS Message with the SAP Support.

I notice from the PAM that mobile server is windows only. Is this likely to find its way to a unix platform in the near future?

it is possible. Also here i would recommend to open a Support Message with the SAP Support.
