Hi Folks,
I faced an issue during my last maintenance activity where in I have removed all the groups from SMLG .
While adding the same , I missed to add the ip address in the attributes field.
It worked very well for one landscape but in the other landscape(System) user's faced login issue's until I add that corresponding ip address in the atrributes field .
Guys , Let me know the reason why it ip address is mandatory in one system and not in others.
"I would have followed the best practice by removing the instance instead of removing the group but missed at that time "
Hoping for your responses
Thanks&Regards
Sandy
Hello,
This is the full help message that was posted a little bit above it actually does give you a scenario where the IP is needed:
"(Numeric) IP address of the application server. This should be specified only if the application host belonging to the instance has to be addressed from the frontend side using a different IP address than that used for communication within the application host.
This could be the case if, for example, the communication from application host to application host uses a different network than that used for the communication from the frontend to application host."
I hope this helps.

Hello Sandeep,
Let me know the reason why it ip address is mandatory in one system and not in others
- IP address of the application server: Only enter a value in this field if the application server associated with the instance needs to be addressed by the front end with a different IP address to the one used for application server-internal communication. This value applies only for the selected assignment.
Hope your query is answered.
Thanks,

Could you please explain me the scenario where it is needed
"application server associated with the instance needs to be addressed by the front end with a different IP address to the one used for application server-internal communication"
Say my app-server ip address is 192.9.34.x .
Where can I see the second ip address so that I can conclude that my system is using the above mentioned scenario.
Regards
Sandy
