Has some body installed the Replica Server for the Enqueue Server?

We are stuck in this issue, please help!!

Hi, I installed a complete 470-200 system (R/3, SRM, XI and CRM) all using the standalone enqueue method with replication. We are running on a windows environment with 2 clusters, one for the DB and the other for the CI's. Since we installed and went live we had 1 outage in 8 months because of a UPS problem. Other than that we have had no outages. If you want more information on the setup send me a e-mail at petronem@shaw.ca.

Hi All,

I am planning to setup enqueue replication on Windows. I don't know how to proceed. The documents I have describes about setting it up on Unix. I am refering to the documentation in the following link.

In the above link they asked to see SAP note 671690 to install enqueue replication under Windows but I am not able to find that SAP note. If anyone of you have any documents or knows procedure how to set it up on windows it will help me a lot. It is very urgent for me.

I am planning to make this replication server HA under VERITAS Cluster Server (VCS).

Hi Gerardo,

it only makes sense to run the enqueue replication server in a HA cluster environment.

Starting and stopping the replication server has to be under control of the HA cluster, for that reason this task highly depends on the HW/OS platform and the HA cluster software (.e.g. HP ServiceGaurd, IBM HACMP, Steeleye, MS Cluster Server, Veritas ... etc ).

The HA cluster also is in charge with takeeover if virtual IP addresses, filesystems, etc.

In other words: the complexity of running the enqueue replication server is mainly deternmined by the cluster setup.

The simplest way to run the enqueue replication server is to have identically installed environments of the standalone enqueue server on 2 different server nodes.

On one node (->primary node) run the standalone enqueue server (enserver) as usual. You have to enable replication by parameters in the instance profile, see doku for details.

On the other node (->backup node), run the enqueue replication server (enrepserver) with the same instance profile. If you want to run it with a start profile, you can derive it from the standalone enqueue server's start profile, change the name of the executable from enserver to enrepserver and remove other processes (e.g. msg-server).

With this simple setup you can demonstrate enqueue replication.

However, automatic error detection and changing the roles of primary node and backup node are not yet available with the simple method explained above. This is, as already told, task of the HA cluster.

If you are runing on Windows, we can provide a setup for MS cluster server.

If you are running on another platform, you need additional service of your platform vendor.

Thanx alot for your response, As I read in the Document it seems this is when you don´t have already and StandAlone Enqueue and The Replica installed, in my case I installed Everything with the HA option and it installs Already the Stand alone Enqueue and The Replica sever, and the Enqueue works fine as Stand Alone but the Replica I don´t kwow how to do it, did you have the same situation and it worked creating the start and the Profile?
