Inital WM stock load

SAP WM is to be implemented to manage an exisiting warehouse that is already managed in IM and the stroge bin management in an external system.

What options are available for the inital WM stock load? Since a few materials are in scope we are looking for a fully automatic solution (e.g. via import of source file that includes the storage bin values).

The approach is to keep the IM stock on the existing storage location and to activate WM (asssign to warehouse number) for this storage location. Afterwards load only the storage bin stock within WM.

Thank you in advance!

Are you planning to keep 2 sloc's after Go Live? One for IM managed materials and another for WM managed?

    Am I missing something?

If the storage location is to be IM managed why do you want to load WM stocks and LT01 is for creating a transfer order in WM which should be created for any materials movements posted in the warehouse.
