My connections duplicating

I am coming from Crystal version 8.5 to 2011. Every time I open a report it creates a new "my connection". Why does it do this? All my reports are coming from the same ODBC data source. How do I stop this or fix it. At this rate I will have hundreds of my connections???? help, thanks

Right click on the connect and select delete.

Update your 8.5 report to the new format and use a common connection then it won't add a new connect each time.

Don, I do delete them and they come back. So I went in to the registry and removed them. As soon as I open an old report it creates a new connection. I do the set data base location to the connection that I made that has all the tables in it thinking that would be the way to do it and save the report. But I still have to go to the registry and remove that other connection because right click delete does not do it - FYI.

thanks

Why go to the registry? Right click on the connection in the Designer and click on Delete...

The reason each one is created is because in CR 9 they completed re-wrote the database part of CR Designer. When you open legacy reports there is a conversion done to update the old connection info to the new connection info.

Once you have updated the report to the current version then save it. As long as all of the main and subreports connection properties are updated and ALL of your reports use the same connector you should see only one listing. If not then simply right click and delete.
