BOXI Windows machine move

HI,

I need the below help.

We are migrating our windows machine, because the old machine is out of support and has to be decommisioned.It means we have to install again BO XI R2 on the new machine.

Can you please tell me what all actions have to be taken and what all have to be checked before we install BO XI R2.

Which is the best Operating system which is good for BO XI R2?

Also all the reports on the present windows machine are on the file system.

I suppose we copy all these reports on to the new machine.

But how do i map this location on the new file system to the Infoview so that Infoview can show all the info properly.

Can you please share a document(if any) for this?

Hi,

We just finished our migration from 2008 R1 to 2008 R2 and here are the steps

If you planning to move your BOBJ to new windows machine, try to go with Win 2008 R2

1). Install New BOBJ system in Win 2008 R2. (if Planning to Migrate to BOBJ 4.0, there is upgrade management tool where you can use to migrate the data).

2). Copy the database (system copy) from the old BOBJ system to new BOBJ system

3). Migrate the reports from old system to new system using "Import WIzard" method or thru LCM (for other versions)

I want to tell you that BO XI R2 product is gone End of Life phase. so recommended to go for BO Xi 3.1
