Question about IDOCs - Message Type SEQJIT

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but couldn't find one specific to ALE/IDOC and I'm sure many of you have worked with these before.

I'm trying to understand the technical connectivity side of sending IDOCs and am looking infotrmation.

I have two different Web EDI partners that my vendors connect to in order to get purchasing information (POs, JIT/JIS calls, etc.).

One vendor will connect to only one Web Partner. One of the Web EDI partners is connected to ECC through SAP PI, the other will be a tRFC connection.

I'm looking at the partner profiles now and notice for partner type LI role VN, I can specify a Receiver Port.

My question is can someone give me a brief overview of the technical set up discussing things like Logical Systems, Receiver Ports, RFC Connections, RFC Destinations, etc.?

I need to know how I can ensure we are sending IDOCs to the correct system dependent on the partner.

Thanks for the response - I guess I'm being lazy I have looked through some of the documentation but I guess I was hoping for a reponse in fairly plain English specific to my example.
