UDFs

We have created many UDFs in our sales and purchasing documents. Some UDFs are exclusive to purchase docs only and others to sales docs. However, we can see all UDFs in all docs regardless of the nature of the document. Thus a long list of fields is visible in both sales and purchase documents.

Is there a way to specify that certain UDFs must be visible on pur docs only and others on sales docs only??

Also certain UDFs must be mandatory for purchase docs only and certain for sales docs. But when we make a UDF mandatory for one type of document, it becomes mandatory on all marketing documents. How can we avoid this??
