Strategy group

Friends,

XYZ material which is manufactured for local(indian) as make to stock as well as export market as make to order.

Should I prepare strategy group of 10 and 20 and assign that strategy group in material group of that material.

Client wants to do planning of the material according to market condition.

How to map it?......

    Yes you are right.

    Create a new strategy group in customizing (Production > Demand Management > Planning Strategy > Define Strategy Group)

    and make the the MTS strategy (not strategy group, but strategy 10 or 40, whatever fits your business) as the main strategy and optional strategy as 20 (MTO).

    Now whenever you create a sales order for that finished product in the procurement tab change the ""requirement type" to KE, it will become MTO.

    Hi,

    If your material you are making for for stock and also it can be used against sales order then use strategy 40. As 40 strategy will reduce PIR whrn sales order is received.

    Dear Sandy,

    The Strategy 40 will act on both the ways.It will consider the MTO and you can plan like MTS.

    When the sales order delivery occurs the PIR quantity will be reduced against the order.
