OACT Account Type

Is there a way to determine the account type, "Balance Sheet" or "Profit and Loss" account from OACT?

It seems like there should be a Parent > Child relationship OACT> OACG but it seems that "Category" column values in OACT is null.

I was hoping there was a way to determine the account type from a data column or relationship of some kind that could be used in a SQL query.

Hi Ken,

If the account type is Other, it is for "Balance Sheet". Otherwise, it is for "Profit and Loss".

Thanks,

That makes since.

But after looking at the data in OACT u2018ActTypeu2019 it looks like we have a number of G/L accounts that have the incorrect Account Type. Are there any ramifications setting them to the correct Account Type?

Thanks
