Sending Email after a Rejection of BPF step in BPC 7.5 MS

Hi,

I just want to know if BPF in MS can be configured to send emails after a STEP is REJECTed ??

If so could you please share the details.Much appreciate all your replies.

We are on BPC 7.5 MS - SP06.

Any suggestion Guys ????

Hi,

with the BIDS you can create a dts with several connected tasks, on the arrow that connect, right click and you have the possibility to set a constraint or expression or combined constraint and expression with "and" and "or" conditions that permits you to choose different ways dependening of the precedent step results.

You have directly on the right click "success" "failure" and "completion" or if you click on "edit" you can use expressions.

please look at the documentation, so if you want on failure options you can add and connect a sendmail task

Hi Roberto,

Thanks for replying to my query.

I fail to understand what the Tasks in BIDS has to do with the STEP in a Business Process Flow.

Our issue again is the system doesn't send any email when a step is "Rejected" by the Manager/Reviewer but it generates Email if the STEP is "Approved".

Hi,

As per my understanding, if the email functionality is set up, then the owner of the steps will automatically receive an email, when they need to execute their step. So, ideally, when the reviewer rejects a step, the owner of the rejected step should receive an email.

Thanks for your reply. Really appreciate it.

I tried several times but success.. If a STEP is Rejected the "OWNER" of the step is not getting notified by E-mail.

But what i have noticed is the system successfully generates Emails for 3 events.. 1) When the Work Status is changed 2) When the Step is Completed and 3) When the Step is Approved.

Also Set AppSet Parameters have values only for ApprovalStatusMail and ApprovalStatusMsg but nothing for Rejection.

Another issue is when an Email is generated for a Completion of the step there is no Link to the BPF . It just has plain text like this "[Enter % Gross Sales] step of [Revenue Forecasting] has been completed by [Username]. Please check %URL%".

What should be done to get the URL Link in the Email.

I am sorry. Since, I dont have the access, I am unable to test the scenario.

However, based on your response, this is not possible in the MS version. It is definitely possible in the NW version of the product.
