Implementing a OSS note manually

hi all,

I need to implement OSS 1354957 manually.

So I call SE38, enter the the object and then I am asked for the 'object key'.

Where do I get this from?

Maybe it souns a little bit stupid to you guys but I never ever had to fiddle around with this 😔

In order to apply any OSS note, you have to be authorized by your company and be assigned an OSS ID and password.

For any SAP standard program modification, you are required to login to OSS and request for a repair program Access key.

Follow this step to obtain the Program Access key:

Menu Path: System -> Services -> SAP Service (Transaction code OSS1)

    - Login in with your OSS ID and Password

    - Click the Registration button

    - Click Register Object

    - Double click R/3 Value Contract

    - Fill in the Object Registration for Installation:

    For e.g. PGMID/Object/Name: R3TR FUGR MIGO, SAP release: 46C

    - Click the Register button

    - Select the Key number and use the Copy and Paste short key to copy the Access key

You should be now able to modify the SAP standard program. Hope this helps.

    Regards, Vishal

    Registering an Object

Object registration takes place the first time an object is changed in your SAP system by a registered development user. If the same user changes the object again at a later time, you do not need to re-enter your key.

To register an object, proceed as follows:

    1. Logon to SAP Support Portal.

If you do not have an user for SAP Support Portal, please contact an employee at your company who does. This person can register you in SAP Support Portal and will subsequently be logged as your initiator.

    2. Choose Registration.

The screen for Registering Changes to SAP Objectsis displayed.

    3. Choose Object to change from development user registration to object registration.

    4. Select the appropriate checkbox if you are making advance corrections.

    5. Enter the object type and the name of the object. This information is displayed in the Change and Transport Organizer any time you attempt to change an object.

The system displays a 20-digit key.

    6. When the SAP system prompts you to enter this key, either enter the key manually or cut and paste it into the appropriate field.

Then when you go into trnx SE38 and enter your key, the ABAP screen editor opens up. What I use to do is save the note on your local drive from OSS. If you are applying the entire note then just copy and paste into the editor screen, save it, do a syntax check on it for errors, and activate it.
