Aggregation of cumulative and averaging of non-cumulative KFs

Hello,

out of a set of key figures (KFs), I need to aggregate the cumulative ones (i.e. total stock) and average the non-cumulative ones (i.e. quality rate) in the query, both on a quarter-to-date as well as year-to-date base.

The processing shall be done based on the monthly period. Meaning when May is selected in the query for analysis, the quarter-to-date shall represent only Q2 values, whereas the year-to-date shall represent all values from Jan to May. I think this part is already covered, as there are selections for the monthly, quarter-to-date as well as year-to-date values. Each holds the respective KF along with a time characteristic that identifies which month, quarter or year the selection is for.

The issue is about the aggregation. The current situation in the query is everything's just getting aggregated which is wrong for the non-cumulative KFs.

In the infocube, each record has KF1 to KF3 to have separate data available for the monthly (KF1), quarter-to-date (KF2) as well as year-to-date (KF3) values. These are generic. Another characteristic identifies which KF the record is about (KF identifier). Per KF, the records are arranged in rows per month (monthly period) along with characteristics of organisational background (OrgChars) for drilldown. This is how the records look like:

KF identifier | Monthly period | OrgChar 1 | OrgChar2 | OrgChar3 | KF1 | unit KF1 | KF2 | unit KF2 | KF3 | unit KF3

-> Please advice, how to do the aggregation and averaging in the query, depending on what kind of KF?

The issue looks somewhat common. I was thinking about using the unit (handling units, %, tons etc.) to distinguish the KFs in each record, but couldn't really figure how.

Thanks so much for your helpful responses.

Build restrictions for KF1 to KF3 by KF identifier.

Example: RKF1 = KF1 restricted to KF identifier of Total stock with aggregation set to total

RKF11 = KF1 restricted to KF identifer of quality rate with aggregation set to average

Remove KF identifier from the rows.
