Refer to this thread that discuss about the same issue:

Actually Exporting report to Microsoft Excel 2007 in .xlsx format is not available in Crystal Reports 2008. However you can export the report to xls format which is compatible and can be opened with Microsoft Excel 2007.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.

We are exporting to Microsoft Excel (97-2003) only (not to xlsx).

And more over we can able to export our reports to Excel (97-2003) (Ver of Excel: 12.0.6425.1000).

But export fails on Systems having ver of Excel: 12.0.6529.5000

Please help.

I will make sure that I am on the latest patch ie SP4

https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100008782452011E/cr2008sp4.exe

You can find the rumtimes here:

MSI:

MSM:

ClickOnce

https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100008782442011E/cr2008sp4_clickonce.zip

Recompile the app and then deploy.

What is the .NET Framework used by the application?

Method of deployment?

OS where app is deployed, x86 or x64?

Are you able to export the report from designer ie CR2008 Standalone?

Thanks for quick reposnse.

What is the .NET Framework used by the application?

>> 1.1 framework

Method of deployment?

>> We have build MSI out of MSM for SP3 and installed MSI on user PCs

OS where app is deployed, x86 or x64?

>> Currently having x86 only.

Are you able to export the report from designer ie CR2008 Standalone?

>> Yes with Ver of Excel: 12.0.6425.1000. But fails with ver of Excel: 12.0.6529.5000

Do you still have the same error if you are using .NET FRamework 2.0?

Is it possible to have the exact version of your product including SP and FP applied.

If you are using the runtimes of SP3 I will recommand you to use the ones of FP 3.1 and see how it goes.

I believe Crystal Reports : 12.1.0.892 is of SP3.

Please help from where I can download FP 3.1

Refer to this Link[SAPNOTE 1467600 - Error: "Invalid export DLL or export format" when exporting to XLS format and connecting to Oracle in a VS .NET application|https://bosap-support.wdf.sap.corp/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/sno/ui_entry/entry.htm?param=69765F6D6F64653D3030312669765F7361706E6F7465735F6E756D6265723D3134363736303026]

Crystal Reports 2008 + SP3 should be of version of type 12.3.x.xxx
