WAD Java script issue after upgrade to 7.3

Dear all,

We have just upgraded our system from BW 7.01 to 7.3 SP4. One of the custom web templates in the system uses java script to hide few items on every screen refresh. Post upgrade, this functionality is behaving strangely, as the hidden items automatically get 'un-hidden' on page refresh.

Please let me know if there are any known script issues in web templates in system upgrade scenarios. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Dear All,

I can only re-confirm this - for us at least 2 Java Scripts do not work

after the upgrade to 7.3 - if we remove them then the web templates work fine.

As soon as know more I will update you.

We had to eventually do the same, i.e., remove all portions of scripts causing the issue.

Hello,

We have  the same issue we recently upgrade from BW 7.0 to BW 7.31 SP 7, and some of our web template uses Java scripts, to hide/display web items, but after the upgrade it seems the java script are not working as expected.  Hope, you have an answer to this issue?

We are laso having the same issues on the javascripts when we migrated our BW 7.01 templates to BW 7.31 SP8 system.

Is there any solution for these issues or do we just need to remove these javascript items from the templates?

Hi ,

We have managed to fix majority of our reports by switching off the following Web template property:

USE_SNIPPET  and 90% of java script functionality was restored. Still we had to do some adjustment to the code since we were using the DOM interface to read and munipulate HTML Tags.

Thanks Fahad. That was really helpful. We have switched off the USE_SNIPPETS parameter in RSZWMDPARAM table and restarted the server. After that most of our javascripts on the WAD templates are working.

As you menitoned  we are also using DOM interface in a script item to read the bookmark id. That code is not working. You have mentioned that you made some adjustments to the code. Can you please let me know what kind of adjustments you went through to resolve these issues completely.

I really want to give you points for this help.Let me know if you want tme to open a new thread.
