Updating my UI DI API Addon without reinstalling on all PCs

Dear all,

I developed the 1.0.0 version of my UI DI API Addon.

I created the ARD file using "Add-on data registration generator".

Then I installed ard file on the server, also setting the installation folder.

Then I had to set the installation folder on all the PCs of my customer after the first login into SAP B1.

Now, I have to change a functionality of the Addon.

Is it just possible to update the executable file of the Addon on the server without reinstall it and going on every PC client to reset the Addon installation folder?

What steps do you suggest to update an Addon already installed into SAP B1?

Best regards

Emanuele

    Dear Emanuele,

Even if it is possible to update your UI DI API Addon without reinstalling on all PCs, it may not be reliable. Unless the change is minimum that do not have any new features. You may try in test environment to check.

    Thanks,

    Hi Emanuele,

I guess you confuse the add-on update and DI version update as you just begin your first add-on 😊 If your add-on application still use same SAP B1 UI/DI DLL file then you don't have to reinstall the DI/UI dll files on every client PC. In your case, you just did some changes in your add-on without changing any SAP B1 DI/UI DLL in your visual studio project's reference, so you don't have to reinstall the SAP B1 in your client PC.
