CR for Enterprise and BW role-based security

What needs to be configured to allow Crystal Reports for Enterprise to leverage role-based security in SAP BW? When I run an published report in BI 4.0 I do not get a role-based pick list for BW variables in the report. With 2008 and 2011 you needed to publish reports using the BW Publisher but that has gone away with BI 4.0 (or at least that's my understanding right now). Webi reports are able to see the role-based varaible pick list with no issues.

    Hi,

you are saving the reports to your BusinessObjects System and as part of your SAP authentication you are importing the roles.

All objects are living in the BusinessObjects Server

      Ingo,

Thanks for the reply. So it looks like now the only requirement is that the user is assigned to one of the imported SAP roles to be able to get a secure pick list when running reports against SAP BW (no need for the BW Publisher with CR for Enterprise). I'm assuming that you would still need the BW publisher if you were to use CR 2011.
