Deletion of GL master data

Hello Experts,

I had created 3 GL accounts wrongly.

There are no postings made in those a/c's.

Now i would like to delete those GL a/c's,

I tried OBR2 to delete those gl masters, but it is givving an error message that "company code is productive- deletion not Possible"

Now i want to know what will be the impact if i untick that company code productive check box???

I am in dvelopment server only...

Please respond ASAP.

Please untick that company code productive check box. after that you can try. don't forget later you have to Reselect that productive check box.

Hi All

am able to delete these gl accounts.

now i want to create the secondary cost elements with the same numbers that i had given for gl accounts i.e. 731000, 732000, 733000 but not able to do that.

giving error message that.

G/L account exists, secondary cost element does not exist

please help me how can i create the same as secondary cost elements

Please know the difference between primary and secondary cost elements:

Primary Cost Element: You must have GL account as prerequisite (KA01)

Secondary: Not required to have a GL account. (KA06)

In other words, if you have GL accounts in existence, you can ONLY create them as Primary Cost Elements. Usually, all your P&L GL accounts are created as Cost / Revenue Elements.

PS: Please read help.sap.com to get the conceptual clarity. This habit would help in long time.

Remove the check box in OBY6 (Company Code Productie)

Then ensure you are only deleting three wrong accounts in OBR2. If you have posted the transaction data, then you cannot delete the GL accounts.

Once you have successfully deleted, then reset again the "Company Code Productive" Checkbox.

This check box will prevent from inadvertent / erroneous deletion of the programs / master data.

Hi:

You can proceed with the deletion if you are in dev server.. Mark the GL for deletion at first and then delete in OBR2.. I hope it will help you...As long as productive check box is ticked in SPRO , it will prevent the data from deletion. Un check it and delete.
