Business Object SSLcertificate for infoview

Hello All,

We have Business objects XI 3.1 installed in our enterprise environment. We need the Infoview website encrypted in SSL in 2048 bit encryption. I have gone so far reading the Admin document from This is done via using the SSLC command that was being described. All it really talked about was creating a self signed cert, but not a cert request that goes the ca authority. It also doesn't provide detail into configuring it for 2048 bit. I am very lost without help.

Can any provide me some guidance to this need? With out SSL properly configured, we would not be able to go live with the purchased SAP product.

Also, how would you setup the infoview site to use the standard 443 port?

configuring the Tomcat for https is out of scope of the BO product. Here you shoud go for the official Tomcat documentation.

Here you can also find the instruction for configuring SSL via a CA and how to enable port 443.

Please note that you also have to import the root CA certificate.

A mistake on my part. I entered in the wrong url. When I enabled SSL tomcat and changed the server.xml file, I had https://<servername>:8080, when it is supposed to https://<servername>:8443.

Thanks you so much helping. I NOW HAVE THE SSL WORKING 😊
