Hi,
In SPRO---MAINTAIN GLOBAL SNP SETTINGS, we have an option HEURISTIC DIRECT DELIVERY.
Can any one explain to me how it works with an example.
I know what master data is to be setup but I am unable to understand how it functions . In Direct shipment, where is the demand maintained , either at the DC or at the Customer
Regards,
SS

Hi,
In Direct delivery, the demand is in the DCs (regular sales locations) only.
But heuristics by passes the normal source determination process for the product for which direct delivery indicator is set in the lane. Here Heuristics considers the TLB profile assigned to the lane and creates stock transfers directly from the factory (direct delivery location) if we have sufficient demands to meet the acceptable limits of the shipment. Rest of the qty is planned using the regular source determination strategy (quota/priority etc...)
For example say you have 12tons demand for a pack in the DC and you have lanes from this DC to factory and to another location say a hub. You have 100% quota to the hub. but you have enabled direct dely in the Factory lane and assigned a TLB profile to this lane. Lets say the miminum load defined in this profile is 9T.
In this case heuristics will propagate 9T to factory and 3T to Hub (though you have 100% quota to hub).
Hope this is clear...

Ashok
