Issue to conversion function in SAP HANA

Hi Experts,

I have 6 date fields in my table. They are in 'YYYYMMDD'. Business want it into 'MM/DD/YYYY' format in reporting. I can easily create six different calculated columns and convert date into desire format. But, I do not want to use this technique.

I want to know more about Convert Internal to external or External to internal function available into semantic layer.

I have created scalar function and it is working properly. Please check below screenshot.

When I connect same function to desire column at semantic layer.

But, it is not working in Data preview or in reporting layer. (e.g. Lumira)

So, Could you please help me. What am I doing wrong here.

As written down in the offical Documentation (Convert Attribute Values to Required Formats) - see the quoted "Notes" block - that kind of conversion function is not supported in SAP Analytic Client tools (e.g. Lumira, Data Preview in HANA Tools ...). You have to apply the conversion logic by yourself on the consumer side. One option would be to determine the function names from the view mentioned in the documentation and call it manually on the consumer side for the data.
